rosewater metropolis

a strange man with a horn growing out of his head and discoloured petal-shaped marks on his skin. rosewater is longtime friends with a hardworking woman in town, and she asks him to escort her daughter to a mage school in her stead so the child can begin her training. he seems a little testy at first, but he has a good heart, really... it's mostly an act he puts on so that people will stop prying into his personal life, to be honest.

he lives on the outskirts of the town of oats, in what looks like a cartoonish haunted mansion. when he doesn't feel like traveling out to the nearest bounty hunters' guild, he works as a sort of curse-eating pest control for the elders of the town. curses don't show up there often, but the town's population is mostly on the older side, so they don't always have the energy to fend for themselves... and rosie, he's a bit of a sucker for an old lady in need, you see!

sometimes, he has a bit of a distant look in his eye, like he's caught in the past... like some horrible spectre has him in its grasp - and it very well might, to tell the truth. countless years back, he had a lover, one that was like the sun itself in his arms, and the world decided that the best course of fate was, apparently, to rip them away on their very wedding day. a loud crash, a heavy thud, a building ruined... if there was some way, some possible way, that he could ever avenge them, rosewater would do it without hesitation.

personality

• sarcastic - never too mean with it, but always with a stinging precision
• playful - he loves to toy with people... he's very perceptive of peoples' limits, but won't hesitate to reach them in no time
• serious - perhaps contradictory to the above, she does know when to call it quits and stop fooling around, especially if a situation really calls for it
• angry - a deep-seated rage sits boiling in his stomach, and while he does know not to let it consume him, he's not doing himself any favours by ignoring it either...
• steadfast - no matter how long it takes, she will do what she sets out to do

design notes

• he's kind of scrawny and has a flat chest
• his hair always covers his left eye (your right side when viewing him), and the eyelid itself is scarred closed
• his tail has thorns on it and bends at sharp angles, with the flower itself being closed
• he likes wearing deep jewel tone colours, with a mix of off-white, off-black, and saturated greys as well
• the edge of his iris is a brighter shade of pink than the iris itself
