the traveler

someone who lost their memories, their name, their identity, and woke up in a stranger's house. they were given a magic dictionary, and a mission to track down The Name Eater, the entity that took their name and the names of many others - both people and objects. they come across as entirely hollow, having lost everything inside themselves, but... as they journey on, they seem to remember more and learn about new things to love and hate as well.

they've adjusted to their current situation well, all things considered, but the new role they've been thrust into is quite unpleasant after all. "great, you're awake, go hunt down a legendary beast that has tormented people for decades! i know you have no idea who you are, but this'll help for sure!" are you kidding?! ...is what the traveler thought at first, but they have to admit, it is nice to have something to fill the void inside them. it just... would've been nice, y'know, if it wasn't a life threatening public safety issue...

personality

• quiet - they don't have a lot to say in any given situation, often preferring to just listen and react when appropriate
• sentimental - they hold dearly onto any memory they form, and when given gifts, they keep them on their person no matter what... even if it can be a little unwieldy
• kind - they care about others deeply, even if they have trouble understanding or showing that feeling... after all, they don't want to get only their name back
• serious - they feel like since their given mission is so dire, there's not a lot of time to fool around or have fun; this does change after time, though
• blunt - they're not great with social skills, often just saying the only things that come to mind, but they don't want to hurt or offend anyone so they're amenable to being told off for it

design notes

• they like wearing dresses and skirts, finding them the most comfortable to move around in; usually they wear thicker fabrics too
• their hair is black at the top, fading to white about halfway down its length - it can be depicted with any kind of pattern you'd like, from a gradient to a large swirl
• they have swirling marks all over their body, most prominently on their face and hands
• their build is on the thinner side, and they have slightly bad posture
• their facial expressions are generally very muted; they're particularily embarrassed about how awkward their smile looks

trivia

• they have a strong sense of direction
• their right eye works just fine, it's just that their hair just always falls that way
• they get along well with animals
