yuzu

a bartender who knows everyone's secrets, while no one knows hirs. very friendly and a great listener! knows everyone's orders off by heart, and knows exactly what to recommend if someone wants to try something new. ze is warm and friendly, but keeps everyone at arm's length, preferring to "keep things professional" even when off the clock. one might think that with hir knowledge of everyones' secrets while sharing none of hir own, ze might be some kind of nefarious character, but that's not the case. ze would never tell anyone this, but ze has a soft spot - a bleeding heart almost - for people who can't say what they want... as ze can relate quite a bit.

yuzu and hir siblings were made by an alchemist centuries ago, a strange person who was born with characteristics unlike any beastkin before them. they wanted a family, one with similar features, one where they wouldn't be exiled for their strangeness, and so they set out to make one. literally, making them with their own two hands out of alchemical reagents and... parts... that they had gathered. eventually, this cold parental figure passed on, but the siblings never did. they lived onwards, into the distant future... however, yuzu in particular holds a fair amount more pain than the others - ze is the oldest sibling, and saw the creation of the others firsthand. holding the secret for how horrible their births were, not wishing any of them to recount that painful time... it weighs on yuzu, gives hir a feeling that ze need to carry on keeping other peoples' secrets forever.

personality

• flirty - ze likes to play it up a lot, sort of as a way to put up a confident front, but ze never flirts without there being some genuine interest there... ze takes reciprocation in stride too, almost never being flustered by it
• caring - almost everything ze does is for the comfort and wellbeing of others, but it's not out of obligation -- ze just finds hirself doing things for others out of habit
• mysterious - ze doesn't think this way of hirself though, it's just how other people perceive hir... since ze rarely, if ever, opens up to other people
• charismatic - ze's a smooth-talker for sure, often using this to gently, amicably enforce the rules of hir bar if needed
• protective - it manifests as being very strict with rules and taking care of one's health, sometimes being a bit of a helicopter friend, but ze truly feels a need to take the burdens of others onto hir own shoulders

design notes

• ze's quite lanky and thin, with a flat chest and a fair amount of body hair
• hir stubbled face usually has a gentle smile on it, genuine and warm, but occasionally, when ze thinks no one's looking, the smile falls off and shows a resigned and sad expression instead...
• hir fashion sense is classy but flashy, with jewel-toned colours, bright white, gold accessories... lots of low-cut shirts, fashionable cut-outs and windows, tall heels, too
• ze has lots of piercings all over their body!
• hir hair is naturally a warm-medium brown, but ze likes to bleach and dye it different colours every once in a while
